Have you ever noticed what has been taking place in the earth today? Have you noticed the ‘Shift’? I’m not speaking about a shifting of the earth’s layers, as in an earthquake or some type of strange weather phenomenon. No, what I’m referring to has little to do with natural or biological happenings but rather a spiritual phenomenon that seems to be captivating the entire world.

Not long ago I sang a song titled “Let the Worshippers Arise”, by Mercy Me. The first few lines begin with the words “Well Father I see that You are drawing a line in the sand; I want to be standing on the side, holding Your hand...”

Today, in our culture we are witnesses to exactly that. A line is being drawn in the sand world wide and creating a shift from what was to what will be. The time to choose which side of the line you will be found standing on is quickly approaching, and fellow believers — we must be ready to stand!

“Get ready to be awakened!” That is the declaration going out throughout the world by none other than the Queen of Daytime Talk shows, Oprah Winfrey herself. She is the newly acclaimed prophetess of the New Spirituality she promotes through her television show, XM
Radio Show, and now her web cast program. What is this New Spirituality? It is the spirituality that is based upon the book, A NEW EARTH; Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhardt Tolle.

Jesus has commanded us to be wise as serpents and at the same time we are commanded to be as gentle as a dove. Wisdom speaks that in order to rightly combat this new type of Spirituality, we must have an understanding of what we are up against. As the Body of Christ we cannot afford to bury our head in the sand and pretend it isn’t happening. This new Spirituality resembles the Truth of God’s Word so closely, (even using scripture to back up its statements) and sounds so enticing that unsuspecting and unprepared Christians are being swallowed alive in the trap. It is promoted through the disguise of peace, love, acceptance, and community for all mankind; regardless of race, religion, creed, sexuality and even spirituality.

Not only has A NEW EARTH been named as the biggest spiritual hit of the United States, but it has instantaneously become a global sensation!

John Sutherland wrote “The top non-fiction title in early 2008 is A New Earth by Eckhardt Tolle. It is labeled ‘a spiritual classic’ by one of today’s leading spiritual thinkers.” Supra-denominational in his spirituality, millenarian in his vision, Tolle is the prophet of “the power of one”.

The masses drawn to A NEW EARTH (A.N.E.), include Hollywood celebrities and other high profile people from all over the entire world.

They are jumping onto the “Shift” bandwagon and encouraging their fellow citizens, countrymen and women to “Get It”.

Oprah Winfrey has been the main reason behind Tolle and his book becoming an overnight success, but others such as Jim Carrey, Maria Shriver, Guy Ritchie, Russell Simmons, Jenny McCarthy, Sandra Oh, and astronaut Edgar Mitchell (the 6th person to walk on the moon), have all put their celebrity status behind this global movement. And that is just to name a few!

What is exactly is this “SHIFT”?

“IT” is, according to Tolle and Winfrey, the arising of the awaking consciousness of the “New Heaven and the New Earth” that the Apostle John wrote about in the twenty-first chapter of Revelation. The SHIFT is the actual “shift” from Tolle’s belief of the collapse of organized, man-made religions of yesterday to the inner consciousness of “truth” that the masses are beginning to embrace today.

This is not isolated to the U.S. There were over 2 million people registered for the online Web casts from approximately 120 countries around the world. Hundreds of thousands of users are registered and make use of the A.N.E. message boards every day. Those professing to be Christian, as well as those who practice other types and styles of religion, daily share the belief that Eckhardt Tolle and Winfrey have literally brought salvation (albeit a new style) to the world.

Matthew 18:7 states “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!” (NASV)

The word “inevitable” is from the word Anagke from ana, an emphasis, and agcho, to constrict, bind hard, compress. It means, necessity, compelling force as opposed to willingness.

“Stumbling block” is from Skandaion and means the trigger in the trap on which the bait is placed and when touched by the animal, springs, causing it to close and entrap. It also references the conduct of the person who is thus injured. It always denotes the enticement or occasion leading to conduct that brings with it the ruin of the person in question.

In this particular scripture, it denotes the things that lead others to turn away from God’s salvation and thus come to ruin.

The stumbling blocks in this context of Jesus’ statement, reflect a moral necessity as a result of the depravity and wickedness of mankind.

When looking at A NEW EARTH, at first glance, it doesn’t seem all that bad. After all, unconditional love, joy, peace, acceptance and community are all good thing to have aren’t they? But they are the stumbling blocks of our time that have arisen out of a moral need.

We can all agree that morals in America have greatly declined. And as a result of moral decay around the world, God is allowing the stumbling blocks of A.N.E. to arise. But to what extent is mankind willing to go, or what cost is humanity willing to pay? At what price does the Body of Christ bury her head in order for mankind to attain this new earth?

Matthew 16:26 asked “For what profit is it to a mon if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Luke 9:25 adds “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”

The expense the world is willing to give to achieve this “New Heaven” and “A New Earth” is unfortunately their very souls.

In the coming newsletters I will continue to share parts of this New Gospel that is beginning to appear all around the world. As a result, in the coming months and years, we as the Body of Christ must:

1st ban together, unifying ourselves as Believers in the One True God and His Christ, strengthening the bonds that remain

2nd be prepared “in season, out of season” to give an answer to the HOPE that is within us. And,

3rd remember we must learn how to discern and be led by the Holy Spirit of Almighty God.

Words that once defined Christianity can no longer be used as the litmus test for who is and is not a True Believer in the Kingdom of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. It has become a whole new world of language and each meaning is determined by each individual person’s philosophy and belief.

In this new earth, all interpretations are welcomed and embraced, EXCEPT the true Gospel of the Kingdom or our Lord and of His Christ whom Tolle exclaims are bigoted, ego-founded, man-made, intolerant spiritual structures that are now collapsing.

It is no longer needful in this new earth for Jesus to be seen as the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world. The Blood Jesus shed repulses the majority of these new spirituality believers and the scriptures are not accepted as the Holy Spirit inspired Breathed words of the One True Living God, but rather just one of the many ways, or avenues the “god” within is “pointing” to the inner consciousness of who we are, the “I AM of Being”.

Oprah calls “IT” the Light or Life, or Consciousness. Others may call “IT” Buddha, Mohammedanism, Eastern Mysticism, Witchcraft, Wicca, New Age Sufism, or whatever ism that tickles your fancy. No matter what your belief is, it is welcomed and embraced without question, without judgment, and without reserve.

This is as long as your belief does not interfere with or cause any other “Believer” to experience any type of guilt or personal condemnation for their choice of beliefs. The ‘god’ of your dreams can now be the “God” you choose it to be.

Eckhardt and Oprah exclaim that “Only truth of who you are will set you free” and once mankind “gets IT” the much needed shift that will bring about social, economic and political change will occur, and the New Earth will automatically emerge.

It is time for the Bride of Christ to awaken from her slumber, to wipe the sleep from her eyes, to cover herself in the Armor God has provided her. She should stand with her feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, her head covered with the helmet of salvation, her waist girded with the truth, and the sward of the Spirit of the Living God in her right hand, ready to battle the gates of hell for the souls of our countrymen, our neighbors, our friends, and sometimes the souls of our own loved ones caught in the trap.

Over the course of the following articles you will begin to see, and prayerfully understand the line that is being drawn in the sand. No longer can we sit on the side lines and say we don’t know or that we do not understand. We are being forced to declare where our loyalties lie and which side of the line we will stand on.

In the process of establishing this new earth, those that are opposed—those who make the pathetic mistake of “clinging to the old rugged cross”, will soon be (and according to the message boards on A.N.E.), are already considered to be hate mongers that cling to a mindset that is filled with violence. It will be those very ones, who refuse to conform to ‘all inclusiveness’ and ‘acceptance’, that will eventually be removed from the new earth.

Those of us who are alive today might not see this all the way to its fruition but our children might, or our grandchildren and their children might. But let’s not make the same mistake as the King of Israel who said, “Oh well, at least it isn’t going to happen while in my lifetime.” (My own paraphrasing)

Ephesians 6 says “₁₁Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ₁₂For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ₁₃Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
