Behold, He’s
doing a “New Thing”
“Do
not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold I do a
new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you know it? I will make a road in
the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah
43:18-19

As
I sit here at my desk tying to figure out how to even start writing what is in
my heart, I stand (or literally fall on my knees) in awe of God. My heart is so
full; it’s hard to know where to begin. So many of you have very lovingly told
me how you appreciate all that I’m doing with the Women’s Ministry—and I so
appreciate your encouraging words. However, the truth is that I’m doing
absolutely nothing but watching our Lord unfold a beautiful work before my very
eyes. I am an empty vessel that He is pouring Himself through. This is truly a
“God thing”. I’m only starting programs and events that I KNOW He’s telling me
to do. I have never heard His voice as loudly and clearly in my life as I am
with this “New Thing”! I thank Him for using me and all of you for your prayers
and hands-on help.
The
clubs are seeing great response from both the leaders and attendees. This new
approach opens a door of opportunity to develop bonding friendships while
sharing common interest and the chance to experience more intimacy with sisters
in prayer.
I
hope to see the women of COF get so close that a Sunday won’t go by that if
someone is absent; another will notice – then follow up with a phone call.
Leaders
are asked to keep their programs fun and light while leaving room for God to
move. We are not taking the place of a Bible study, but are open to God and
serving someone’s need. My desire is to move with God, and not jump ahead. He
continues to show me ‘the next step’. I’m so excited to have Margie Hutchcraft
starting an in depth Bible study in the fall called Daniel, by
Beth Moore. Margie has studied the word of God extensively, and has a call on
her life to teach and disciple women. I want to encourage you to take part in
this study.
This
web site has all events posted, including our Vision: (To unify the church of
Christ through women), our Mission Statement: (To be a blessing to each other as
we reach out with love and compassion to one another, fulfilling our purpose on
earth) and our Purpose: (To provide fellowship and care with women through
activities and ministries that promote sisterhood, bringing us close to Christ).
Just click it up or visit the “New Thing” table in the front lobby.
Last
of all, I want to thank my precious Jesus for keeping Gene (my husband) asleep
while I’m writing this in the middle of the night. I didn’t ever ‘get to it’
during normal waking hours and woke up with it on my mind. And since I needed
total silence without interruptions to be able to write this, I seriously thank
the Lord for the time slot. When he wakes up and I’m gone he makes me come back
to bed because he’s worried I’ll be tired the next day. Erin can vouch for me. (I love you for worrying about me
honey)
It’s
an honor to serve you.
