The Refuge Home is an outreach of Community of Faith Church. The
Home has a capacity for six mothers and their babies. The Refuge Home is for single women
eighteen years of age or older who have one child. The purpose of the Refuge Home is to
provide the personal help and living accommodations to enable them to become a
self-supporting single parent in an environment that is conducive to the spiritual
development of a Christ-like-character.
Who staffs the Refuge Home?
The Home is staffed by houseparents/directors, who
live in the home. Many other qualified volunteers also help in various capacities.
What is expected of the resident?
The resident will either go to school or have job training that
will enable her to have sufficient income when she leaves the Home to become a
self-supporting single parent. The resident mother shares the daily responsibilities with
other residents. Training is also provided in parenting, cooking, spiritual growth, and in
other areas.
How is an eligible mother qualified to move into the Home?
To inquire, call 618-993-0907 and speak
with the director. A written application is first filled out and reviewed. After the
application is reviewed, a personal interview is conducted. Contact us at:
